International
Organ Festival

«Città di Porto San Giorgio»

Since 2007
Francesco Zanin organ op. 368 · 1966
Church of San Giorgio Martire · Porto San Giorgio

Twenty years of festival.
Over a hundred concerts
with great international artists.
And the sixtieth anniversary
of the precious symphonic organ
of the Church of San Giorgio Martire.

What makes me proudest is having introduced so many people to the organ – the «king of instruments» – and its incredible music, and made them love it.

After decades of mainly liturgical use, our organ has been able to let its voice shine fully again, to give so many emotions, to make itself known in all its splendour.

Seeing a large and attentive audience at every concert repays me for the effort, the worries and the difficulties that one meets each time in organising such an important event.

My beautiful town of Porto San Giorgio too can boast its own prestigious International Organ Festival. The love of music, of art, of beauty and of culture must never be missing from our lives.

The Festival

Since 2007, every summer, the voice of the organ returns to centre stage in the church of San Giorgio Martire.

The International Organ Festival «Città di Porto San Giorgio» was born in 2007 and since then has brought leading Italian and foreign organists to the church of San Giorgio Martire every year. In twenty years it has offered the city more than a hundred concerts, always with free admission.

At the heart of the festival is the 1966 Francesco Zanin organ, a symphonic instrument that the Festival has brought from purely liturgical use to full concert life, making it the voice of a season that every summer draws an ever wider audience to the organ.

Now in its twentieth edition, the Festival goes on: not a milestone, but a season that renews itself, among the great pages of the repertoire and the great names of international concert life.

Support the Festival

Great music, open to everyone. Every year, thanks to those who choose to support it.

For twenty years the Festival has brought internationally renowned organists to Porto San Giorgio, and it does so with free admission: a choice that opens great music to anyone who wishes to hear it. This free access lives on the contributions of businesses, institutions and individuals who share the value of culture.

Standing alongside the Festival means linking one’s name to an event of international standing, rooted in the Fermo area and recognised well beyond its borders. It means allowing new voices of European concert life to reach the town every summer, the Francesco Zanin organ to continue to be heard, and admission to remain free for everyone.
