For organisers

How to book Mario Ciferri.

Organ recitals, concerts with orchestra, basso continuo and conducting, in Italy and abroad. Here is how we work, from the first e-mail to the concert.

The formats

What can be proposed.

Organ recital

A solo programme built around the instrument, the hall and the audience, from the Renaissance and the Baroque to the French and German symphonic tradition, up to the twentieth century.

Organ and orchestra

As soloist with orchestra. The repertoire includes the Concerto op. 100 by Marco Enrico Bossi, performed at the Sochi and Katowice Philharmonic halls.

Basso continuo

On harpsichord and organ, with Baroque and symphonic ensembles.

Choir and orchestra conducting

Baroque ensembles, choral and orchestral groups, with a repertoire that runs from Bach, Handel and Vivaldi to Fauré and Saint-Saëns.

Mario Ciferri has inaugurated restored instruments. On request, and in Italian, lectures and talks on the history of the organ and its repertoire are also possible.

How we work

Three steps, from the first e-mail.

  1. Write

An e-mail with date and place, the instrument, the type of evening and the context. Even just an idea is a good start.

  2. Instrument and programme

The programme is chosen with the technical specification of the organ, that is, the stoplist. Where possible, a preliminary visit is arranged.

  3. Rehearsals and concert

Rehearsals take from two or three hours to a full day, depending on the instrument and the programme. Programme, curriculum and photographs are supplied for promotion; printing and distribution are the organiser’s responsibility.

The instrument

A pipe organ.

Mario Ciferri plays pipe organs exclusively, never electronic instruments. Before choosing the programme he needs the technical specification of the organ: instruments may have from one to six manuals.
