Where they were taken
The photographs follow Mario Ciferri’s concerts in Europe and North America: Westminster Abbey in London, La Madeleine in Paris, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York, Reykjavík Cathedral, St. Florian Abbey, the Katowice Philharmonic, Seville Cathedral, as well as Moscow, Lausanne, Oslo, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Toronto.
Very different organs: white-and-gold Baroque cases as at St. Florian and Dillingen, historic instruments in dark wood as at the Holmens Kirke in Copenhagen, concert-hall organs such as that of the Katowice Philharmonic, where Mario played Marco Enrico Bossi’s Concerto for organ and orchestra op. 100 as soloist.
Over eight hundred concerts in more than twenty countries. On every instrument the programme changes, because every organ has its own voices and every hall its own acoustics.
